Paul is a highly skilled expert and has exceptional practical experience in: Counterterrorism (protecting crowded spaces / events); Public disorder; Public safety; Planned and spontaneous critical / major incidents; Road Safety and Congestion management.
Accustomed to working strategically within senior management teams and at operational levels, Paul was a Senior Manager (Chief Inspector) in the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) London, UK for 30 years. He has extensive experience in the areas of operation planning and management of pre-planned and spontaneous police operations, response to critical / major incidents, partnership working, community policing and road safety.
As a Nationally trained UK Crisis and Hostage Negotiator he has excellent communication skills, is a great team leader / player and has extensive experience working in Partnerships. As a Nationally Trained UK Public Order Commander he has been involved in the planning and operational delivery of hundreds of events both planned and spontaneous. He is quick thinking, decisive under pressure and accountable.
Paul has extensive experience in Roads Policing. This included tackling vehicle bourne criminality, road casualty reduction, management of congestion and was the lead for Road Safety in London (UK). He is an expert car driver and motorcyclist.
In the four years preceding Paul’s retirement from the Metropolitan Police (London UK), he was the operational lead for protecting crowded spaces and events, through the deployment of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation to prevent vehicles being used as weapons in terrorist attacks.
These events have included protecting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Heads of State including President Obama and large-scale events such as Notting Hill Carnival, the second largest street carnival in the world with over one million visitors each day.
He is a loyal, dedicated respectful team leader and is great at developing relationships. He has spent the last 14 months working in Canada. He is able to work directly in Canada, USA and Europe and is willing to work worldwide.
